Removal
CAUTION: The large clutch assembly nut has a right-hand thread and must be rotated counterclockwise to remove it.
Remove the fan clutch (8A616) from the water pump (8501) by turning the large nut, which is part of the fan clutch, using Fan Clutch Holding Tool T84T-6312-C and Fan Clutch Nut Wrench T93T-6312-B.
Remove two screws retaining fan shroud.
Remove the fan blade (8600), fan clutch and shroud.
If the fan blade and fan clutch have to be separated, remove the remaining bolts attaching the fan blade to the fan clutch.
Installation
Install all of the bolts attaching the fan blade to the fan clutch. Tighten all bolts to 16-24 Nm (12-18 lb-ft).
CAUTION: The clutch assembly nut has a right-hand thread and must be rotated clockwise to tighten it.
Position fan blade, fan clutch and shroud in vehicle.
Install the fan blade/fan clutch on the water pump hub by turning the large nut, which is part of the clutch, using Fan Clutch Holding Tool T84T-6312-C and Fan Clutch Nut Wrench T93T-6312-B.
Install shroud tighten screws 6-8 Nm (53-71 lb-in).
5.0L, 5.8L and 7.5L Engines
Removal
Remove screws retaining fan shroud (8146) to radiator (8005).
Remove four screws retaining clutch on water pump hub.
Pull fan clutch and fan blade off water pump pilot and remove fan clutch, fan blade and shroud from vehicle.
Remove four screws and separate fan clutch from fan blade.
Installation
Position fan blade to fan clutch and attach with four screws. Tighten screws to 16-24 Nm (12-17 lb-ft).
Position fan clutch, fan blade and shroud in vehicle.
Position fan blade and fan clutch to water pump pulley (8509) and attach with four screws. Tighten screws to 16-24 Nm (12-18 lb-ft).
Install shroud tighten screws 6-8 Nm (53-71 lb-in).

Removal
Partially drain the engine cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding in the Cleaning and Inspection portion of this section.
Remove the upper radiator hose (8260).
Disconnect the coolant reservoir hose at radiator.
CAUTION: Fan clutch has right-hand thread. Remove by turning nut counterclockwise.
Remove the fan clutch using Fan Clutch Nut Wrench T83T-6312-B and Fan Clutch Pulley Holder T94T-6312-AH, set fan clutch in fan shroud.
Remove the radiator fan shroud screws.
Remove the radiator fan shroud, and fan clutch.
Remove the bolts attaching the fan blade to the fan clutch.
Installation
Install the bolts attaching the fan blade to the fan clutch. Tighten to 16-24 Nm (12-18 lb-ft).
Install the radiator fan shroud, and fan clutch.
Install the radiator fan shroud screws.
CAUTION: Fan clutch has right-hand thread. Install by turning nut clockwise.
Install the fan clutch using Fan Clutch Nut Wrench T83T-6312-B and Fan Clutch Pulley Holder T94T-6312-AH.
Install the coolant reservoir hose to radiator.
Install the upper radiator hose.
Refill and bleed the engine cooling system as described in Cooling System, Draining, Filling and Bleeding in the Cleaning and Inspection portion of this section.
