Thomas the Tank Engine
Say hello to Thomas! Ok, so this isn't very original, in fact it was inspired by Dan Parker's Thomas, but my son, Jack, loves Thomas the Tank Engine, so I had to build him one.
Thomas is shown here with an old 12V motor because the six wheels and coupling rods make him look much more authentic, but I actually run him with a 9V motor.
Some of the critical pieces you need to build Thomas are a
- A red train baseplate with integral buffers from #7715, #7722, #7727, or #7730
- 5 blue 1x2 Technic beams. For the front and rear windows and one at the back with a short peg in it to mount the rear lattern.
- 6 blue 1x2x2 thin wall pieces used to form the side windows.
- 1 black 6x6 train roof piece.
- 4 1x2 blue grilles for the coal bunker.
