REMOVAL

Extension Housing

  1. NOTE: On 4x2 vehicles, if it is necessary to remove input shaft and extension housing seal, the extension housing must be installed to case. Remove input shaft and extension housing seal using Seal Remover T74P-77248-A.

    Using a 14mm socket, remove nine retaining bolts from extension housing (7A039). Pry gently at locations provided on extension housing and case. Remove extension housing from case.

  1. If necessary, remove oil bypass tube from extension housing using a 10mm socket (4x2 vehicles only).
