Inspect the extension housing (7A039) for cracks. Make sure that the machined mating surfaces are free from burrs, nicks or any other damage. If necessary, replace the input shaft and extension housing seal after the extension housing has been installed onto the transmission (7003).
NOTE: The extension housing rear bushing cannot be serviced. If it requires service, the extension housing must be replaced as a unit (4x2 models only).
