Fuel System Pressure Relief

 

  1.  CAUTION: Fuel supply tubes on vehicles with fuel injected engines will remain pressurized for long periods of time after engine shutdown. The pressure must first be relieved. Read all cautionary notes prior to relieving pressurized fuel system.

     CAUTION: Before removing fuel tank filler cap (9030), turn fuel tank filler cap 1/4 to 3/4 turn counterclockwise and wait for tank pressure to relieve. Personal injury may result if fuel tank filler cap is removed without pressure relieved fully.

    Remove fuel tank filler cap to relieve any pressure in the tank.

  1. When servicing the fuel tubes, loosen the fuel fitting to allow any residual fuel tube pressure to be relieved.
