SECTION 18A: Diesel Diagnosis — 7.3L DI Engine

4.: Key On Engine Off (KOEO) Diagnostic Test (Wiggle Test)

Apply parking brake.
Place shift lever firmly in neutral.
Block drive wheels.
Connect Super STAR II to the Data Link Connector (DLC) in order to run self-test.

Is vehicle prepared to run wiggle test?

Yes	No
GO to Diagnostic Test Step 4.2.	REPEAT this test step.

Note: If the KOEO wiggle test is not initiated within 2 minutes, restart KOEO from the beginning.

Turn ignition switch to ON position.
For Star testers activate, deactivate, and reactivate self-test. You are now in the wiggle DTM mode.
Tap, move and wiggle suspect sensor and/or harness. When a fault is detected, a Continuous Memory DTC will be stored.

Are any DTCs set?

Yes	No
GO to Diagnostic Trouble Code description chart.	Sensors and/or harnesses tested OK.

CAUTION: Do not pierce engine electrical wires or damage to the harness may occur.
