N: Clutch Pedal Position (CPP) Switch

N: Introduction

N1 DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) 528: RERUN KOER SWITCH TEST

DTC 528 indicates the PCM detected a failure in the CPP circuit during the Dynamic Response Test.

Possible causes:

• Open/short in circuit.
• Battery short in circuit.
• Damaged CPP sensor.
• Rerun Key On/Engine Running (KOER) Self-Test.

N2 CHECK CPP SWITCH OPERATION (PEDAL RELEASED)

• Disconnect PCM. Check for damage or pushed-out pins. Service as necessary.
• Connect breakout box. Leave PCM disconnected.
• Key on, engine off.
• Check for B+ on Test Pin 29 on the breakout box.

N3 CHECK CPP SWITCH OPERATION (PEDAL DEPRESSED)

• Key on, engine off.
• Depress the clutch pedal.
• Measure voltage on Test Pin 29 on the breakout box.

N4 CHECK CIRCUIT 306 (T/LB) FOR BATTERY SHORT

• Key off.
• Disconnect CPP switch.
• Key on, engine off.
• Measure voltage on Test Pin 29 on the breakout box.

N5 CHECK FUSE FOR OPEN

• Key off.
• Check fuse F-18 10A in the interior fuse panel.

N6 CHECK CIRCUIT 306 (T/LB) FOR OPEN

• Key off.
• Disconnect the CPP switch.
• Measure resistance between Test Pin 29 and chassis ground.
